2025 New Year's Area and Perimeter Math Craft 3rd, 4th Grade

This 2025 New Year's math craft is a great way to practice area and perimeter. With lots of options for you, and lots of fun patterns to color, you and your students will both be happy!

Children calculate the area and perimeter of the different patterns that make up the numbers, record their answers on the recording sheet, then color and cut out the numbers for a class display.

There are lots of options to meet your needs:

• square units (area)
• centimeters
• inches
• all the necessary measurements given or can be deduced easily (offers more support)
• some measurements missing so students must use other measurements to deduce the missing sides (great for those that need a challenge)
• two bulletin board phrases to choose from
• U.S. and U.K. versions
