Verb Moods Board Game Activity 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th Grade Grammar
This board game will support your lesson on the verb moods by giving students an opportunity to practice using the language in a fun (and slightly competitive) way.
The game can be played in pairs, or groups of 3-4.
Students sort the cards into their categories. Then, students roll the die and move their counter around the board. The space they land on is the category they have to answer. Another student takes the top card and reads the sentence but says “BLANK” where the verb needs to go. The player who landed on the space has to form the sentence correctly. If they are correct, they move forward one space. If they are incorrect, they stay on the space. The first person to reach the end wins!
