Spring 3D Shapes 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th Grade Hands-on Geometry Math Activity
If you're looking for a hands-on activity to practice 3D shapes which also has a fun spring theme, then you'll love the crafts included in this pack.
There are nets to make:
- a birdhouse (the base is a rectangular prism and the roof is a triangular prism)
- a cabbage (sphere)
- a vegetable garden (cube)
- a carrot or umbrella (cones)
- a nest (cylinder)
- a chick (square-based pyramid)
There is a recording sheet so students can demonstrate their understanding of the properties of 3D shapes.
The students could choose different items to make, make all of them, or work in a small group to make them.
The crafts can be used as a whole class, at stations, a math center, and for early finishers.
Visual step-by-step instructions are included.
I hope your students have fun making their 3D spring shapes!
U.S. and U.K. versions are included for spelling differences.
